Asking your GP a question

An e-consult is a simple and safe way to ask your GP a non-urgent question. This can be done via the patient portal Your Care Online. You can send in your question at any time of the day, possibly with a photo or attachment to support it. At a later time, you will receive a response from your GP or another healthcare provider from the practice via the portal.

When not an e-consultation?

An e-consult is a convenient way to contact your GP, but not always the right choice. In case of urgency, doubt about the severity of your symptoms, or if your symptoms suddenly worsen or change, we recommend you to always contact the practice by phone.

Do not use e-consultation at:

  • Urgent or urgent questions
  • Questions requiring (possible) physical examination
  • Emotional and psychological problems

When is an e-consult appropriate?

The e-consult is particularly suitable for short, non-urgent questions, such as:

  • Questions about results and research, e.g. from blood tests or an X-ray.
  • Questions on medicines, such as side effects, continuing medication, or how a drug works.
  • Lifestyle issues, for example on losing weight, nutrition, quitting smoking or alcohol consumption.
  • Questions about complaints for which you have previously visited the surgery.
